We are seeking an ambitious, friendly, and highly capable Assistant Headteacher to join our supportive and progressive establishment. This role is ideal for an existing senior leader with significant leadership experience, who is passionate about improving Communication, Independence, and Achievement for Autistic learners.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Lead the college team strategically and manage the satellite provision.
  • Develop the college curriculums to encompass KS4 and map destination plans for all students in KS4 and KS5.
  • Support the inclusion lead with the completion of preparation for adulthood documents as part of the annual review process.
  • Manage the careers officer and careers advisor when mapping further education and opportunities beyond school (KS4) and College (KS5).
  • Lead staff in creating excellent learning environments that support engagement in learning.
  • Carry out whole school leadership roles, ensuring the implementation of sustainable systems and processes for more efficient and effective leadership at all levels.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven expertise in teaching, with experience of teaching pupils with autism.
  • Outstanding professional conduct, ambitious for both pupils and personal growth.
  • Ability to acknowledge, mentor, and promote excellent practice among staff.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to challenge staff to achieve their best.
  • Solution-focused, innovative, and capable of instigating sustainable improvements.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to form strong positive relationships.
