Reporting to the Planning Supervisor, the Transport Planner will join a busy team planning deliveries. This role is directly responsible for ensuring that all customers are supplied with productin the safest and most cost-effective manner, while providing excellent customer service.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Planning work across multiple locations with multiple drivers in line with the customers expectations in line with WTD and driver hours regulations.
- Delivering exceptional customer service by meeting or exceeding all KPI in line with the contractual requirements of the customer.
- Directly supervising the daily activities of all drivers and managing all operational issues and providing all required out-of-hours operational support.
- Responsible for providing plans to the customer in a timely manner based on their relevant orders.
- Controlling the contract on a daily basis, making any changes where possible when needed.
- Setting up daily diaries with the resource, and trucks and trailers
Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week, shift start times at 6am, 9am, 10am and 11am Monday to Friday and 1 in 4 weekends
Requirements:
Essential: The successful individual will -
- Have appropriate logistics/planning experience.
- Have the ability to work a shift pattern that covers mornings, evenings and weekends.
- Live within a commutable distance
- Demonstrate a high level of attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Be proficient in IT, particularly Microsoft Office - Outlook and Excel.
- Have the ability to interpret data accordingly and to prioritise tasks in line with business needs.
- Be flexible in their working hours, and have the ability to cover shifts when required.
Desirable: The successful individual will:
- Have working knowledge of UK geography.
- Have an understanding of DriversHours Regulations.
- Be CPC qualified, or hold other transport industry qualifications.
