Portfolio Payrolls are currently working with a large accountancy practice in the Huddersfield area who are currently recruiting for a Payroll Administrator to join their team. Working for an established business, the client is looking for someone with bureau/client payroll experience to cover a period of maternity cover.

Reporting into the payroll manager you will be responsible for processing a high-volume payroll across various frequencies as part of a team.

The role is 24 hours a week at a minimum with great flextime around start and finish time. The client also offers an early finish on a Friday.

Key Responsibilities:

  • End-to-end processing of client payrolls on a weekly, fortnightly, and monthly basis
  • Managing payroll queries and resolving discrepancies efficiently
  • Setting up new payroll clients
  • Setting up pension schemes
  • Ensuring compliance with all statutory requirements including RTI submissions and auto-enrolment
  • Processing statutory payments such as SSP, SMP, SPP
  • Preparing payroll journals and liaising with clients' accountants as necessary
  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of payroll legislation and industry changes

Desirable skills and attributes:

  • Previous experience in client payroll (Bureau/ Practice)
  • Confident Communicator
  • Good eye for detail, and can work with precision
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines, in a fast-paced environment
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively
