We are currently working with an Academy Trust who is looking to recruit multiple full-time SEMH Teaching Assistant's to support their pupils with additional needs as well as support all children in the classroom with their learning and development. The needs of the children vary between Social, emotional and mental health and therefore experience with working with either one or multiple individuals with these needs is required. This experience can be from either working within Education sector or the Care sector.
We're seeking a candidate who is passionate about making a difference to pupils lives who have additional needs and have the experience / knowledge to support these pupils and working in a classroom environment.
Behaviour Support Assistant roles and Responsibilities:
- Assisting pupils' achievements by monitoring, supporting and having strong communication with class teacher
- Support the students with their learning and daily routines in both indoor and outdoor provisions.
- Create a positive and inclusive learning environment by managing behaviour, promoting respect, ensuring the safety of all students and differentiating the deliverance of the learning
- Support the student with their social, emotional and physical needs as well as help support them with their learning.
- Evaluate pupil progress through various assessments and provide constructive feedback to support their learning journey, both to the pupil, other staff and have good clear and concise communication with parents/carers.
Behaviour Support Assistant Needs:
- Must have recent and relevant experience working with children and young people in an educational setting.
- Must have recent experience working with children with SEN and SEMH needs and be able to handle direct strong verbal language and extreme challenging behaviours.
- Must have the ability to work well under the guidance of the class teacher and have good team player attributes.
- Must have a passion for education and the welfare and safeguarding of children and young people.
- Be comfortable and flexible with an adapted structure of learning based both indoors and outdoors.
