Year 1 Primary Teacher

Location: Huddersfield
Start Date: January 2026 – 1 term
Availability: Full Time

Are you an experienced and confident primary teacher ready to hit the ground running? PK Education are working with a vibrant and diverse primary school in Huddersfield who are on the lookout for a passionate Year 1 Teacher to join their team in January.

This is a full-time, long-term role that will run for 1 term, with every chance it could be extended — and for the right person, there’s even potential for a permanent contract.

About the Role:

• Full-time Year 1 class teacher role in a welcoming and inclusive Key Stage 1 team
• Responsible for planning and delivering engaging, well-structured lessons
• Supporting a diverse cohort of learners, including a high percentage of EAL and SEND pupils
• Plenty of support from an experienced SLT and great opportunities to get involved in whole-school life

What We’re Looking For:

• A qualified teacher with QTS who has completed their ECT period
• Someone with strong behaviour management skills who can create a positive, focused classroom environment
• A reflective practitioner with the confidence to take the lead when needed
• Leadership skills or ambitions are a big plus — there’s scope to get involved in the Senior Leadership Team for the right candidate
