Salary

£40,000 – £44,000 per annum
(Dependent on experience; higher salary may be considered for the right candidate)

Role Overview

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced CAD Engineer to join a growing manufacturing business based in Hull. The role will focus on producing accurate 3D designs and manufacturing drawings to support production, new product development, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Utilise 3D CAD software (SOLIDWORKS Professional 2021) and PDM systems to create detailed manufacturing drawings and machining data

• Manage, update, and maintain existing drawings and design documentation

• Work closely with internal departments including sales and interior design to ensure designs meet customer and project specifications

• Ensure all designs comply with company standards and manufacturing requirements

• Provide technical CAD support to internal teams, primarily using SOLIDWORKS

• Support continuous improvement activities related to products and manufacturing processes

• Work alongside manufacturing teams to help identify, investigate, and resolve design-related issues

• Follow the New Product Development (NPD) process and assist with prototyping activities

• Maintain high standards of quality across both product design and manufacturing processes

Preferred Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a 3D CAD design role

• Proficient in SOLIDWORKS (or similar software such as Inventor or Pro Engineer)

• Experience or knowledge of furniture design and construction concepts is desirable

• Understanding of timber stud wall construction is advantageous

• CAD/CAM experience and program nesting knowledge would be beneficial

• Background in industries such as holiday homes, modular buildings, or similar manufacturing environments is preferred
