SMSTS Site Manager (M&E)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced M&E Site Manager to oversee the on-site delivery of mechanical and electrical services for a warehouse construction

This 4/5-month role requires strong leadership to manage M&E subcontractors, ensure quality, and drive the project to completion on time and within budget. Candidates must have a proven track record on large-scale schemes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day on-site M&E operations, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire systems installation.
  • Coordinate and supervise M&E subcontractors, ensuring adherence to project specifications and timelines.
  • Enforce health, safety, and environmental standards, complying with CDM 2015 and other regulations.
  • Monitor progress, quality, and resource allocation, addressing issues promptly to maintain project momentum.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and ensure all M&E work meets design and client requirements.
  • Collaborate with the Project Manager, engineers, and stakeholders to resolve technical challenges.
  • Maintain accurate site records, including daily logs and safety reports.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience: Site Manager, with proven delivery of M&E packages on projects valued at £40m or higher, ideally in warehouse, industrial, or commercial sectors.
  • Qualifications: SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme), CSCS Black or Gold Card, and First Aid at Work certification. NVQ Level 6/7 in Construction Management or equivalent is desirable.
  • Skills: In-depth knowledge of M&E systems and construction processes. Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills. Familiarity with site management software (e.g., Procore, Viewpoint).
  • Attributes: Hands-on, proactive, and safety-focused. Ability to manage high-pressure environments and multiple trades on-site.
  • Local Knowledge: Experience in Chichester or South East construction projects is advantageous.
