What We're Looking For

Relevant Qualifications:

The Opportunity

We are seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to play a key role in the delivery of a 120m new build industrial unit in Hull. You will be responsible for developing, coordinating, and delivering comprehensive electrical designs that fully comply with project specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. Additionally, you will ensure compliance with all relevant electrical standards and regulations, incorporate energy-efficient and sustainable solutions where appropriate, and maintain accurate records of design decisions, revisions, and project documentation throughout the lifecycle of the project.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct site surveys and inspections to verify design assumptions
  • Conduct risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential hazards
  • Track design progress to ensure timely delivery of project milestones
  • Integrate energy-efficient and sustainable solutions where applicable
  • Maintain up-to-date and properly archived design documents and plans
  • Provide technical support during installation, testing, and commissioning
  • Facilitate communication between clients, consultants, and project teams
  • Perform load assessments, cable sizing, lighting calculations, and system analysis
  • Ensure compliance with electrical standards, regulations, and client requirements
  • Perform design reviews and quality checks for accuracy, feasibility, and compliance
  • Develop electrical designs, drawings, and schematics aligned with project specifications
  • Develop specifications, schedules, design reports, and all associated technical documentation
  • Maintain comprehensive and accurately documented records of design revisions, technical queries, and engineering decisions
  • Coordinate design information with architects, mechanical engineers, structural teams, and contractors
  • Contribute to project meetings by delivering technical updates and addressing design-related enquiries
  • Analyse and interpret project briefs to ensure electrical designs meet the defined scope and performance requirements
  • Identify opportunities for value engineering and propose cost-efficient design alternatives without compromising quality
