Role Overview
As a Steel Detailer, you'll work closely with engineers, fabricators, and project managers to produce accurate and efficient 3D models and 2D drawings using Tekla Structures. You'll play a key part in delivering high-quality steel detailing packages across a variety of large-scale structural projects.
Positions are available from junior to senior levels.
Key Responsibilities
Create and develop 3D models and 2D fabrication drawings in Tekla Structures
Prepare GA drawings, connection details, and material lists
Coordinate with design, engineering, and fabrication teams to ensure accuracy and efficiency
Assist in the checking and QA of drawings and models
Maintain drawing records and ensure work is delivered on time and to standard
Support junior team members (senior roles only)
Requirements
Essential:
Proficiency in Tekla Structures
Understanding of structural steelwork fabrication and erection processes
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Desirable:
Previous experience detailing structural and miscellaneous steel
Familiarity with UK and/or international building standards
Experience in a design-for-manufacture environment
Knowledge of BIM workflows
