Health Safety and Environment ManagerBased in East Yorkshire £50,000 – £55,000 + Excellent BenefitsWe're partnering with a leading food manufacturing business to recruit an experienced Health & Safety Manager. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead the site’s HSE function and play a key role in fostering a proactive safety culture across operations.The Role:You’ll lead a small HSE team, ensuring full compliance with health, safety, and environmental legislation while driving continuous improvement in standards. This role is pivotal in embedding a culture where safety, wellbeing, and environmental responsibility are top priorities.Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement HSE policies in line with legal and internal standards
  • Lead site audits, risk assessments, and accident investigations
  • Champion behavioural safety and employee engagement initiatives
  • Ensure LOLER, PUWER, COSHH and RIDDOR compliance
  • Manage training needs and ensure competency frameworks are met
  • Maintain ISO 14001 & ISO 45001 standards and support audits
  • Collaborate with leadership to drive strategic improvements in HSE performance
  • Manage the HSE budget and deliver projects on time and within scope
What We're Looking For:
  • NEBOSH or equivalent HSE qualification
  • Strong experience in a similar role, ideally within food or FMCG manufacturing
  • Confident communicator with proven leadership skills
  • Solid knowledge of H&S regulations and best practices
  • Experience with incident prevention, investigations, and training delivery
  • Ideally some experience with Environmental and Sustainability
  • Ideally some experience in CDM
