  • The job is for a Maintenance Engineer with a salary of £51,000.
  • Candidates should have experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, preferably in food or FMCG.
  • The role requires a mix of electrical and mechanical skills, along with NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualifications.
  • The shift pattern is 4 on, 4 off, providing a balance between work and personal life, along with 20 days of annual leave.
  • This is a permanent position offering job security at one of the UK's largest food producers.

You already know the deal.

You're a Maintenance Engineer. You fix stuff. You keep lines moving. You stop chaos before it happens. And when things do go wrong, you're the one who stays calm and sorts it.

What you might not have right now is a job where the money matches the stress. Or a shift pattern that gives you actual time to live your life outside of work.

This one does.

Here’s the setup:

  • £51,000 salary. Yep, that’s not a typo.

  • 4 on, 4 off – rotating days and nights. (Plus 20 days annual leave, book 4 days off and have 12!)

  • Permanent role. Proper job security.

You’ll be working for one of the UK’s biggest food producers. The factory runs 24/7, and without engineering, nothing gets made. So your work matters here – a lot.

You’ll be joining a team where people have each other’s backs. Where getting your hands dirty is expected. Where you’re trusted to get on with the job, not micromanaged to death.

Is it hard work? Sure. But it’s not boring. And you’ll be rewarded properly for it.

What you’ll need:

  • Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment (food or FMCG would be ideal).

  • Electrical or mechanical bias – either works, but you need to know your way around both.

  • The usual qualifications (NVQ Level 3, or equivalent).

If you're fed up with jobs that promise “great culture” and “exciting opportunities” but deliver long hours and underwhelming pay… this might be the change you need.
