- Plan, schedule, and allocate vehicles and drivers to meet delivery deadlines and customer requirements.
- Optimise routes to maximise efficiency and minimise fuel usage and operating costs.
- Coordinate with warehouse, sales, and customer service teams to ensure seamless transport operations.
- Monitor live operations and respond to changes or issues in real time.
- Ensure all transport operations comply with DVSA regulations and O-Licence undertakings.
- Monitor drivers’ hours and working time in line with EU Drivers’ Hours Regulations and the Working Time Directive.
- Oversee vehicle inspections, defect reporting, maintenance scheduling, and MOT compliance.
- Maintain accurate records of driver CPC training, tachograph data, and vehicle compliance checks.
- Work with the Transport Manager to prepare for DVSA audits and inspections.
- Allocate drivers and ensure they are fully briefed with job details and compliance requirements.
- Liaise with drivers on daily operations, resolving issues promptly.
- Maintain driver records, including licences, qualifications, and training.
- Ensure vehicle insurance, tax, and roadworthiness documentation are up to date.
- Produce daily, weekly, and monthly transport performance reports.
- Monitor KPIs such as on-time delivery, fuel consumption, and compliance metrics.
- Maintain transport and compliance documentation to meet legal and audit requirements.
- Support accident investigations and incident reporting procedures.
