Occupational Therapist - Hull City Council (East Locality HU7) - £33 per hour

Hull City Council is currently recruiting a dedicated and experienced Occupational Therapist to join the East Locality team. This is a supportive role with a focus on mentoring and guiding OTAs and newly qualified staff, making it ideal for someone confident in both practice and supervision.

The post is based in HU7 4LY, with a requirement for regular office presence. Remote working is not available, though flexibility on working hours can be discussed with the manager.

This vacancy will be for an initial 3-6 months, with a high likelihood of extension.

Main Duties for the Occupational Therapist include:
  • Supporting and mentoring OT Assistants and newly qualified OTs

  • Carrying out community-based functional assessments

  • Recommending equipment and minor/major adaptations

  • Liaising with internal teams and external partners to ensure timely interventions

  • Promoting safety, independence, and dignity in all aspects of care planning

To Be Successful:
  • Previous experience as a community-based Occupational Therapist

  • Comfortable working on-site and supporting junior staff

  • Confident in manual handling and recommending equipment/adaptations

  • HCPC Registration

  • Enhanced DBS (can be arranged by us)

  • Eligible to work in the UK

  • Recognised Occupational Therapy qualification
