GSL Education are looking for dedicated and enthusiastic English Teachers to work in secondary schools across Hull starting from September 2025. We are recruiting for full-time, part-time, long-term and day-to-day supply roles to suit your experience and availability. Whether you’re an Early Career Teacher or an experienced professional, we’d love to hear from you.
As an English Teacher, you will be delivering engaging lessons in both Language and Literature to students across Key Stages 3 and 4, and Key Stage 5 where applicable. You will play a key role in building students’ communication skills, cultural knowledge, and confidence.
What you have to do as a Teacher of English:
- Teach English Language and Literature across Key Stages 3, 4 and KS5
- Develop lesson plans and deliver creative and purposeful instruction
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment
- Assess student progress and provide clear feedback and intervention where needed
- Support students in developing reading comprehension, grammar, and writing techniques
- Contribute to the wider school community and enrichment activities
What we need from an English Teacher:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised qualification
- A degree in English or a related field
- Experience teaching English at the secondary school level
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- A passion for language and literature and a desire to share it
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
