Stores Assistant

41 hours per week

07:00 to 16:30 Mon-Thurs 07.00 to 12.00 Fri

12.50 to 13.50 DOE

Key Responsibilities

  • Receiving & Checking Goods

    • Receive deliveries and verify quantities and quality against delivery notes and purchase orders.

    • Report any discrepancies or damaged goods to the Stores Supervisor.

  • Stock Management

    • Accurately record stock movements and update inventory systems.

    • Ensure all items are stored safely, labelled correctly, and organised for easy retrieval.

    • Perform regular stock checks and assist in stock audits.

  • Issuing Parts & Materials

    • Prepare and issue materials, tools, and equipment to engineers and internal teams.

    • Maintain accurate records of items issued and returned.

  • Warehouse Operations

    • Operate forklifts, pallet trucks, or other warehouse equipment (if certified).

    • Keep the stores area clean, safe, and compliant with health and safety standards.

    • Assist with packing, moving, and organising goods as required.

  • Documentation & Systems

    • Update stock management systems (e.g., ERP or warehouse software).

    • Maintain clear and accurate paperwork including delivery notes, pick lists, and stock sheets.



Skills & Experience Required

  • Previous experience in a stores, warehouse, or logistics environment (preferred).

  • Good computer skills; experience with inventory systems beneficial.

  • Good organisational skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Forklift licence desirable but not essential.

  • Knowledge of safe manual handling practices.
