The Funghi Club is a French-inspired bistro and deli located in the heart of Hungerford, known for its classic, authentic flavours, busy buzzy ambience and genuine warmth. We're looking for a Chef to join the team and run service for our small Bistro and deli. Working in conjunction with our Chef's based at Hungerford Park you'll be responsible for overseeing not just the Bistro but also the deli. If you know this site you'll know it's tiny and the chef role is customer facing so an ability to converse with customers is essential. Occasional shifts at our Marlborough bistro and production kitchen may also be required

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and execute seasonal, French-inspired dishes to a consistently high standard
  • Oversee daily kitchen operations, including mise en place, service, and clean-down
  • Manage the deli counter: prep, presentation, rotation, and customer-facing quality
  • Monitor and maintain food safety, hygiene, and allergen protocols across all areas
  • Support ordering, stock control, and supplier communications
  • Contribute to menu development and specials with flair and practicality
  • Maintain a clean, organised kitchen environment in line with health & safety regulations
  • Work collaboratively with front-of-house and management to ensure smooth service

What Were Looking For:

  • Proven experience in a professional kitchen, ideally with bistro or deli elements
  • Strong understanding of food safety, HACCP, and kitchen compliance
  • Calm under pressure with excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Confidence in managing prep and service independently
  • A team player who takes pride in their work and supports others to do the same
  • Staff are expected to be friendly, gracious and well presented reflecting the warmth and professionalism our guests expect
