Reed Accountancy are currently exclusively partnered with a West Berkshire based client seeking a Part time Accountant to join their team. The role will initially be temporary for 3 days per week with the view to become permanent and also offers the option to reduce to 2 days per week after July. The company are flexible on which days of the week can be worked.Working in a team of 2 (this being the third person) as the Accountant, the primary purpose of this role is to support with the month end and year end processes as well as supporting the senior management with key analysis and data.

The role requires strong time management and organisational skills, as well as good analytical skills. You must have a solid accountancy background with a strong attention to detail.

Duties for this role include:

  • End of month processes
  • End of year assistance with work papers and assisting auditors
  • Verifying financial statements, ledgers and accounts and making corrections where appropriate
  • Preparing profit and loss accounts sheets
  • Assist in preparing VAT, CIS, Importing/Exporting documentation and Reverse VAT
  • Corporation Tax
  • Preparing the yearly budget
  • Analysis for overheads on projects along with cost benefit analysis

Knowledge of XERO would be desirable for this role, however not essential The ability to perform financial management, VAT, budgets, and project cost assessments independently is essential.

Due to the location of the office you would need to be a driver with access to a car as the office is set in a rural location.
