Financial Controller - £60,000 - £70,000 + company benefits - Huntington, Cambridgeshire

FryerMiles are delighted to be partnering with a PE backed business in Huntington, Cambridgeshire to assist in hiring a Financial Controller to join this fast-growing organisation.

The Financial Controller will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of all financial aspects of the company. This role has management responsibilities for the finance team and is responsible for ensuring the financial and commercial aspects of the business are managed and controlled. This role will work closely with the CEO, internal IT and HR as well as Group Finance to ensure efficient running of the administration teams, supporting the business to achieve its goals. 

Responsibilities Include:

  • Overall responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the finance department
  • Ownership of the Business Model, ensuring its accuracy on an ongoing basis
  • Forecasting of the Business - using the Business Model - gathering relevant inputs from across the business to ensure the Business Model reflects managements best estimate of the business outlook
  • Production of management accounts
  • Production of relevant reports to external stakeholders in a timely manner
  • Management of the annual audit and corporation tax returns
  • Responsibility for statutory reporting requirements including:
  • VAT returns and PAYE reporting
  • Delivering the statutory accounts preparation as well as liaising with auditors in end of year processes
  • Work with the CEO in supporting the different departments of the business
  • Provide management reports showing achievement against budget
  • Provide support for analysis of actual results
  • Accounting systems management and responsibility
  • Overall management of the payroll process, including year end returns and P11D's
  • Supervise the Finance Team, with ultimate responsibility for their job roles
  • Line management of the finance team: ensure that they have regular appraisals, clear objectives and a career plan to work towards

Desired Skills:

  • ACCA, ACA or CIMA qualified
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organisational skills
  • First-rate communicator with the ability to build relationships with colleagues quickly
  • Self-starter with a pro-active approach to their work
  • Strong IT skills across finance systems and Advanced user of Excel
