CK Group are recruiting for a Technician, to join a company in the pharmaceutical industry at their site based in Hull, on a permanent basis.


The Company:

Our client provides resources to the pre-clinical research market. They have contributed to the development of life-saving therapies and treatments for humans and animals.


Main Responsibilities:
  • Conduct daily animal husbandry duties, including feeding, watering, cleaning, animal handling and animal observations as directed by the team leader or Buddy.
  • Complete daily monitoring and reporting of the animal unit environment including temperatures, and the security and suitability of animal housing.
  • Conduct cleaning and maintaining animal rooms, associated areas and equipment, in accordance with work instructions.
  • Completion of all relevant departmental records, including day books, production data reports and stock availability records.
  • Receiving & despatching of goods in/out of animal facility, using correct sterilisation procedures to maintain animal barrier status.
  • The production, birthing, weaning, sexing, counting and weighing of animals.
  • The ability to implement basic animal breeding systems and an understanding of the importance of replacement breeding stock selection criteria.
  • Re-housing and grouping of animals in accordance with Home Office guidelines, as directed by team leader.

Education / work experience:
  • Level 2 Diploma in Animal Management.
  • Experienced in routine manual work that requires attention to detail.
  • Experience in routine animal husbandry.
  • Experience in animal handling of all species on site.
