Job description

My client are a leading supplier of packaging products for the UK retailer and FMCG market.

With a track record of innovation and quality, they are renowned for their ability to support their customers needs regardless of size or location.

Working across a 40 hour week, but with flexible start and finish times (and overtime when available), your role will be to deliver my clients products across the UK.

MAIN DUTIES

1. Responsible for delivery and collection duties as required, driving Company vehicles under the direction of the Warehouse Supervisor. To load Company vehicles and assist with unloading where required.

2. To check vehicle load contents against delivery notes and ensure that delivery notes and other paperwork are dealt with correctly at destination.

3. To assist Warehouse Supervisor in the maintenance of vehicles and forklifts by carrying out regular checks and reporting defects. To carry out minor routine maintenance activities where required. To report any requirements for MOT, PMIs.

4. To assist in sourcing and ordering of services, spare items and consumables in connection with the above maintenance duties.

5. Responsible for general cleanliness of delivery vehicles, bearing in mind the ‘image’ of the Company and the hygiene requirements of any food packaging customers. Carry out weekly checks on vehicles, such as hygiene, engine oil, washer fluid etc

6. To ensure own compliance with driver’s hours regulations, including tachograph requirements. Ensure daily vehicle pre-use checks are carried out and report any defects to Warehouse Supervisor. Liaise with Warehouse Supervisor to comply with drivers CPC requirements.

7. To assist in the movement of waste plastics, pallets, finished goods, plastic reels and other materials as required. To assist in maintaining paperwork systems connected with despatch, goods receiving and stock control.

8. To assist in keeping yard and warehouse areas tidy and free from clutter.

9. To always work safely, to be aware of and adhere to all Company Safety, Quality and Hygiene procedures. As part of the warehouse Team to contribute to productivity and morale by communicating problems to Management and by helping out other staff, when required, to the best of their abilities (e.g. carrying out production, packing or cleaning duties due to some exceptional workload imbalance.)

Holding a Class2 licence, having experience of multi-drop curtain side deliveries, being able work effectively and efficiently, are all must have's for the successful candidate.
