Administrator - local accountancy firm

10-12 month fixed term or temporary position

£25,000 FTE (£13,333 for the 20 hours)

A fantastic local accountancy firm is looking for an experienced Administrator to join its team on a 10-12 month fixed term contract to start in June 2025.  This is a part time job of 20 hours per week, at a salary of £25,000 FTE (£13,333 for the 20 hours).  This role will either be on a fixed term contract (paid monthly) or temporary (paid weekly). 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Liaise with clients to collect tax and accounting records.
  • Distribute financial documents, including accounts and tax returns.
  • Submit accounts and various tax returns.
  • Follow up with clients for approvals to ensure timely submissions.
  • Maintain and update client records internally.
  • Send tax payment reminders to clients.
  • Assist with changes to company year-ends at Companies House.
  • Support the invoicing process for clients.
  • Perform other administrative and ad-hoc tasks to support the team.

To be successful in your application, you will have the following skills and experiences:

  • Previous administration experience in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work at pace, keeping very organised and professional at all times. 
  • Excellent communication skills, especially written but also with internal and external relationships.    
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Ideally, some experience within accounting, but this is not essential. 
  • The right attitude and aptitude to pick up a new sector is important as you will need to get to know the business really well.
  • Be a team player, willing to help and support others.
