Triangle Recruitment are looking to recruit an EHS Advisor for our client in Huntingdon
Purpose of Role:
The EHS Advisor will play a key role in supporting the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of Environmental and Health & Safety (H&S) systems at our cutting-edge printhead manufacturing facility. This position is instrumental in driving the companys safety culture, ensuring legal compliance, and promoting best practices across all departments.
Key Accountabilities:
Fire Safety & Emergency Preparedness:Coordinate regular fire drills and emergency response training and monitor follow-up actions and ensure site readiness.
Occupational Health Surveillance:Maintain a health surveillance schedule and liaise with occupational health providers. Track employee assessments in relation to exposure risks.
ProvidesEH&S leadership, training and operational supportto all levels of the organization.
COSHH & MSDS Management:Audit chemical inventory and ensure up-to-date Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS). Support risk control and awareness for all hazardous substances used in ink and solvent processes.
Chemical Awareness & Storage:Deliver chemical handling and segregation training. Audit chemical/waste storage in production and R&D areas. Assist in SOP development for chemical use and storage.
Risk Assessments:Conduct and support risk assessments for manufacturing, R&D, and office areas. Collaborate with teams to implement corrective actions and controls.
Waste Management:Liaise with waste contractors and maintain compliance records.
Permit to Work & LOTO:Train staff and contractors on Lockout/Tagout and Permit to Work procedures. Ensure correct documentation is submitted and stored for contractor activities.
CDM & Contractor Management:Contribute to the development and enforcement of contractor management protocols. Conduct pre-qualification checks and distribute annual questionnaires.
Ensures all EH&S processes and procedures are implemented and standardizedacross UK manufacturing facilities and to make sure our international sites are all compliant.
Works closely with Engineering and Facilities on special projectsinvolving plant construction, equipment design, and hazardous assessments.
Assists in all aspects of incident investigationincluding verifying root cause and approving the implementation of preventative actions
Ensures emergency response systems, policies and proceduresare in place to manage emergency situations.
Maintains Chemical Hazardous waste programincluding chemical area inspections.
Health & Safety Training:Maintain a training matrix for statutory and role-specific training. Coordinate sessions on PUWER, DSE, First Aid, Fire Marshal, and more.
Drafting procedures & Document Control:Develop and review Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) across departments. Ensure documentation is version-controlled and compliant with audit standards.
Maintaining site EHS statistics, generating reports, and providing analysis to support decision making.
Waste management manage the disposal of controlled waste to meet legal requirements and maintaining records of waste transactions.
Supporting site emergency planning systemsand facilitating scheduled emergency drills.
Supporting EHS Reps and Near Miss meetings,contributing to the EHS Committee.
Supporting incident/ accident investigations, providing advisory input, and developing improvement plans.
Conducting EHS internal audits and site inspections,ensuring EHS compliance standards are upheld.
Support with theannual Air Pollution and WEEE submissions.
Support and facilitate EHS improvementsplans and H&S projects.
Required Skills and Experience:
NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent (essential).
Minimum 2 years experience in a similar EHS Advisor role in a manufacturing, engineering, printing or technical environment.
Solid knowledge of UK H&S legislation (PUWER, COSHH, CDM Regulations).
Previous experience and knowledge of ISO14001 Environmental Management Systems
Experience in Root Cause Analysis and Incident investigation.
Demonstrated ability to deliver H&S training and engage operational teams.
Strong IT skills (MS Office); experience with SHEQ or other H&S systems preferred.
Experience with chemical safety and environmental compliance is highly desirable.
Self-motivated and organized, with a strong ability to set priorities and manage ambiguity.
Qualifications:
IOSH Managing Safely or IOSH Working Safely.
First Aid at Work, Fire Warden, or Manual Handling Instructor certification.
Familiarity with waste regulations and air emissions compliance.
Understanding of Lean/5S methodologies.
