We have an amazing and rare opportunity to work for our global client based in Cambridgeshire. This is a full-time temporary PAYE contract role initially signed off until August 2025 with a possible short-term extension offering an hourly rate of £23.69 - £40.31 per hour, depending on skills and experience. As the UI/UX Designer, you will bring user experience design, data insights, and best-of-breed technologies together, playing a critical role in creating satisfying and compelling experiences for product end users, transforming vision into reality.

This role is cross-functional and requires a strategic thinker, comfortable with ensuring alignment with Product Managers, Developers, and other stakeholders to create great customer journeys that deliver business impact.

Reporting to the Centre of Excellence Lead, the role will collaborate with product managers, Development teams, and the other designers in the wider global team, in designing innovative, user-centred products that support animal health and welfare in both mobile and web apps.
The ideal candidate is a creative and independent individual, but one that knows how to work within a team, with experience in leading and implementing cross-functional UI/UX developments and programs. A designer with a proven experience in holistic product development and has a great design and UX instincts.

Job Description
Uses data, insights from user research, workflow analysis, strategy and design to create satisfying and compelling experiences for product end users that are based on real user feedback rather than assumptions. Drives user experience design from end to end, including ideation, concept development, detailed design, prototypes and user testing and work together with product owners and developers to create great customer journeys that deliver business impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Works with internal customers, capability leads to determine requirements and specifications used to design user interfaces.
- Produces high-quality solutions through flow diagrams, graphic designs, storyboards and site maps.
- Creates experiences to enhance the level of engagement and satisfaction that a user derives from the product, service or brand.
- Enhances the end-to-end user experience through an analysis and understanding of new and existing user behaviours.
- Performs tests on user interface elements such as CTAs, layouts, target links, landing pages and banners.
- Considers existing applications and evaluating their UX (user experience) effectiveness.
- Defines interaction models, user task flows, and UI (user interface) specifications.
- Considers the human-computer interaction (HCI) element of a design.
- Runs user testing of applications, software and websites.
- Communicates scenarios (hypothetical users), end-to-end experiences, interaction models, and screen designs to other people working on a product.
- Produces graphic/UX designs using a variety of techniques and software to improve product usability, accessibility and desirability.
- Includes roles such as Interaction Designer (not exhaustive).
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or 1 to 3 years’ equivalent experience designing web and mobile applications.
- At least 2 years of proven experience as a digital designer, with both web and mobile (Android, iOS) experience.
- Proven track record designing and releasing successful user experiences for multiple device types and contexts.
- A portfolio of professional product design work for both Web and Mobile platforms.
- Attention to detail and a drive for quality and innovation.
- A good understanding of UX patterns and digital design trends.
- Multi-tasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks.
- Ability to work productively in a fast-paced development environment.
- Team spirit and strong communication skills to collaborate with various stakeholders.
- Data visualisation & measurement analysis.
