Job Title: Device Refresh Technician (SC Cleared)

Rate: 25.15 per hour

Clearance Required: SC Clearance (Active)

Job Summary:We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Device Refresh Technician to support a large-scale IT hardware refresh project. The successful candidate will work under the direction of the Contractor Engineer and Site Manager to ensure the smooth execution of device migrations, user support, and inventory management. This role is ideal for someone with strong organisational skills, a methodical approach, and experience in IT hardware handling.

Key Responsibilities:

• Clinic Setup:Prepare and set up the Refresh Clinic area as per project requirements.
• Device Handling & Logistics:
• Transport devices between on site storage and the Refresh Clinic.
• Collect old devices from users and issue new ones according to the migration schedule.
• Ensure accurate handover and collection of devices in line with project processes.
• System Access & Device Refresh:
• Log into systems using contractor-provided devices under supervision.
• Perform laptop refresh tasks as instructed.
• Workflow & Issue Management:
• Update the contractor's workflow management system at each relevant stage.
• Promptly report any issues to the Contractor Engineer and Site Manager.
• Escalate unresolved issues to the on site Post-Migration Support Engineer.
• Inventory & Stock Control:
• Conduct daily manual stock checks and report findings.
• Package returned devices correctly and label them for disposal or refurbishment based on Designation Rules.
• End-of-Day Procedures:
• Secure all devices and equipment in the on site storage location at the end of each day.

Requirements:

• Security Clearance: Active SC Clearance is mandatory.
• Experience: Previous experience in IT hardware refresh or deployment projects preferred.
• Skills:
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Good communication and reporting skills
  • Ability to follow structured processes and schedules
  • Comfortable with physical tasks such as moving and handling IT equipment
