Staffline is recruiting for a Despatch Section Leader to work in Alconbury.

The salary for this role is:
Up to a maximum of £36,051 per annum

This is a full-time, permanent role. The shift pattern will be:
4 on 4 off

The hours of work are:
7pm - 7:30am

Your Time at Work
As a Despatch Section Leader, you will support the Section Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the despatch area. You'll play a key role in maintaining a smooth workflow, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards, and coordinating the team effectively to meet operational targets. You will act as the first point of contact for your team, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and to a high standard.

Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing your section of the warehouse to ensure efficient and effective operations
- Overseeing the accurate picking, packing, and dispatching of outgoing goods
- Coordinating the team to meet deadlines and performance targets
- Liaising with intake and logistics teams to support timely deliveries and collections
- Allocating daily tasks to optimise productivity and workflow
- Providing structured training to team members and giving regular feedback to support development and engagement
- Ensuring accurate completion of despatch documentation, delivery notes, and logs
- Assisting with stock control, including handling, movement, and allocation of goods
- Identifying and reporting hazards, promoting a safe working environment in line with company policies
- Acting as a role model by upholding all company procedures and health and safety regulations

Our Perfect Worker
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience in a despatch or warehouse setting, ideally in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organisational ability and attention to detail
- Confidence in making decisions and solving problems
- Proficiency with warehouse management systems (WMS) and basic IT tools
- A solid understanding of health and safety in a warehouse environment
Desirable skills and experience include:
- Holding a Forklift licence or the willingness to obtain one
- Experience in leading a team in a similar environment
