QHSE MANAGER
Bridgwater, Somerset | Up to 47,000 + Excellent Benefits

An established precision engineering company in the Bridgwater area is seeking an experienced QHSE Manager to lead their quality, health, safety, and environmental operations. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing manufacturing business with a strong reputation in aerospace and medical sectors.

THE ROLE:

As QHSE Manager, you'll be the driving force behind quality excellence and safety culture across the site. You'll manage compliance with AS9100 Rev D, ISO 13485, and ISO 9001, while building strong relationships with key customers and leading a team of quality professionals.

This is a strategic role where you'll have genuine influence - from developing quality strategies and managing budgets, to implementing health & safety policies and driving continuous improvement initiatives across the business.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead and manage the site quality team (inspectors/engineers)
  • Maintain and audit business management systems (AS9100, ISO 13485, ISO 9001)
  • Act as primary customer contact for all quality matters
  • Drive health & safety culture and manage the H&S management system
  • Analyze quality data, control rejects, and implement corrective actions
  • Conduct risk assessments and ensure regulatory compliance
  • Coordinate internal and external audits
  • Manage contractor permits and site safety inspections

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

Essential:

  • Extensive experience managing compliance in a fast-paced AS9100 aerospace and/or ISO 13485 medical manufacturing environment
  • Proven quality engineering/management background
  • Strong knowledge of quality tools: SPC, PFMEA, PPAP, 8D, Lean Manufacturing
  • Experience writing and implementing policies and procedures
  • Understanding of H&S practices in manufacturing environments
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office

Desirable:

  • NEBOSH Level 5 NVQ (or willingness to work towards - training provided)
  • Quality management qualifications
  • Six Sigma knowledge
