Job Title: BSL Level 3 1:1 support (x4)
Location: Huyton, Liverpool
Start Date: July 2025
Contract: 5 years (term time only)
Salary: £150-£180 per day
About the Role:
We are looking for a compassionate and skilled British Sign Language - Level 3 qualified people to join our dedicated team at a specialist provision supporting pupils with complex needs. In this rewarding role, you will work one-to-one with a pupil who requires communication assistance to access learning and fully participate in school life.
The young person will be transitioning from mainstream into a specialised school setting, they communicate with BSL (British Sign Language) & SSE (Sign Supported English), the 1:1 also has ASD & Sensory Processing.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide consistent one-to-one communication support to a pupil with special educational needs.

Use BSL tailored to the pupil’s individual needs.

Work closely with class teachers, therapists, and other professionals to support the pupil’s educational and emotional development.

Encourage independence, social interaction, and confidence in the learning environment.
What We’re Looking For:

Experience working with children or young people with SEND, particularly in a school or care setting.

Knowledge of communication systems such as Makaton, BSL, PECS, or AAC (training can be provided).

Patient, nurturing, and adaptable, with a strong commitment to inclusive education.

A team player who is confident in following directions but also proactive in supporting pupil engagement.

Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check, or willingness to obtain one.
