Part of a small successful engineering group, aleading subcontractmanufacturer is seeking an experienced CNC Operator/Programmer to join their close knit team based near Stockport. Specialising in the production of high precision CNC turned parts for a variety of industries, they use a variety of sliding-head and lathe machines to produce componentsto high tolerances.
They are now seekinga skilled CNC specialist to join their team. This role can either be a Programmer/Operator role, or purely an Operator/Setter role depending on experience.
Key responsibilities include:
- Setting and operating a range of CNC sliding head and lathe machines
- Producing components in stainless steel and other metals to required tolerances and quality standards
- Finishing components to the highest quality standards
- Identifying and recommending programme amendments to improve efficiency and/or quality
- Carrying out quality checks to ensure components meet the required quality standards

The successful applicant must be a team player who can equally work on their own initiative, and meet the following criteria:
- Minimum 2 years Turning experience
- CNC Programmer OR Setter/Operator background considered
- Experience of sliding head machines would be beneficial, although trainingwill happily be provided
- Qualified through apprenticeship or time served.
- Able to manufacture precision components from fully understanding engineering drawings in terms of tolerances, surface finish etc.
- Focused on quality with high level of attention to detail
- Good team player
This is a permanent role working a day shift, offering a solid package and great working environment, with training provided where necessary.
