Job Description

The primary aim is to consistently provide world-class building maintenance services to stakeholders.

The Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for providing mechanical, electrical, and building services engineering maintenance across client properties.

This includes fault finding, repairs, maintenance, and installations. The engineer will ensure that all Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) is completed in line with legislative and contract requirements, contributing to the smooth operation of the NTL account.

In addition, the engineer will respond to reactive maintenance requests across a range of facilities within the NTL network, including offices, stations, depots, and sidings. The role also involves overseeing both major and minor project works as required.

As part of the role, the engineer will be included in the call-out rota and work as part of a dedicated team, ensuring continuous, high-quality service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide necessary documentation for all tasks
  • Comply with full CAFM requirements
  • Ensure all PPM is completed to a high standard and correctly recorded
  • Complete Fixed Wire Testing & associated rectification works
  • Ensure all reactive jobs are carried out to a high standard and correctly recorded
  • Keep the job requester informed of the job status
  • Adhere to all Health & Safety requirements
  • Ensure full technical compliance is achieved
  • Carry out H&S inspections and risk assessments to support the team
  • Perform general administration duties
  • Maintain appropriate company records
  • Provide support to the client and on-site colleagues
  • Identify and communicate areas of concern related to maintenance issues
  • Participate in projects and assignments as required

Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications

  • City & Guilds 2230 Level 3 or NVQ 2356 / 2357 or City and Guilds 2330 Level 3 in Electrical Installation or AM1 and AM2
  • Electrical Installation background
  • General Maintenance experience
  • Knowledge and experience of Testing and Inspection
  • Ability to measure, work to plans (method statements), and read technical diagrams
  • Strong communication, presentation, and reporting skills for technical information
