Axon Moore are working with a large business based in Tameside to recruit a CIMA/ACCA Part-Qualified Commercial Finance Analyst. This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established company who are currently at around £70m t/o with ambition to grow to £100m by 2030. They are very well established and growing, so it’s an exciting business to join with their newly refurbished offices!This role will provide the opportunity to be mentored by a high calibre Head of FP&A with study support to become qualified. You’ll play a crucial role in supporting our commercial teams, providing valuable insights, and helping to drive performance. This is a chance to be a key finance contact, working alongside the trading teams to analyse data, influence decision-making, and contribute to the continued success of the business.Salary and benefits:Salary £35-40k DOE plus study support, hybrid working 3 days in the office, 9.30-3.30 core hours with bags of flexibility, 25 days holiday plus bank holidays and your birthday off, pension scheme, health cash plan, free onsite parking, on-site canteen area with free breakfasts and staff discount.Responsibilities include:
  • Provide assistance to the Head of FP&A across a number of areas in the business.
  • Assist the finance team by contributing to monthly reporting, forecasting, and budgeting process and the commercial business review and board packs.
  • Look into and understand stock trends and reasons for variances to help the business deliver on its commitments.
  • Utilise reporting tools such as Excel and Power BI to generate meaningful and reports and dashboards.
  • Preparing and interpret weekly trading reports and distribute to the relevant stakeholders.
  • Carry out analysis across a number of areas, liaising with department leaders to challenge figures in Sales, Margin, and Stock Trends.
  • Building and developing commercial models and providing performance insights to aid decision making and business growth.
  • Build strong relationships with various internal and external stakeholders, including the Buying, Merchandising and Sales teams.
  • Other ad-hoc reporting and analysis as required.
Experience & Skill Requirements:
  • Part Qualified CIMA/ACCA Accountant with experience as a Commercial Finance Analyst.
  • Previous Commercial Finance experience with stock in Retail/Manufacturing/Wholesale is essential.
  • Strong Excel skills to an intermediate/advanced level would be essential.
  • Experience using Power BI or Power Query would be beneficial.
  • Confident and concise when liaising with key stakeholders across the business, able to challenge in order to meet expectations.
  • Able to work independently and collaborate to identify issues and provide solutions.
  • Strong in managing and prioritising workloads, ensuring that deadlines are met without compromising on quality.
  • Inquisitive with strong attention to detail, eager to learn and share ideas.
  • Adaptable and open to change in an ever-changing and evolving environment.
