About the Role:

As a KS1 SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with special educational needs. You'll help create a positive and inclusive classroom environment where every child can thrive and develop at their own pace.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored support to pupils with a range of additional needs, including communication, social, and emotional difficulties.

  • Support pupils with classwork, interventions, and learning activities.

  • Promote independence and positive behaviour through encouragement and consistency.

  • Work closely with teachers and other professionals to implement learning plans.

  • Maintain accurate observations and contribute to progress reviews.

  • Follow safeguarding, behaviour, and inclusion policies at all times.



Requirements:

  • Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).

  • Experience supporting children with SEN, ideally in KS1 or primary settings.

  • Strong communication, patience, and empathy.

  • Ability to build trusting relationships with pupils and staff.

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply.
