ROLE PURPOSE

As a Fabricator Team Leader, you will lead by example on the shop floor, ensuring the timely and high-quality production of fabricated components. In addition to hands-on fabrication, you will be responsible for delegating work orders, coordinating with production planning, and acting as the go-to person for operational queries. This role offers the opportunity to develop formal leadership skills through structured management training.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

FABRICATION DUTIES:

  • Read and interpret technical drawings to fabricate components to precise tolerances.

  • Perform MIG welding, tacking, seam welding, and grinding.

  • Operate fabrication machinery including guillotine, auto-feed saw, punch press, and radial arm drill.

  • Maintain high standards of product quality and housekeeping.

  • Ensure all work is completed in line with health and safety regulations.

TEAM LEADERSHIP & OPERATIONS

  • Delegate daily work orders and tasks to fabrication team members.

  • Provide frontline supervision, support, and guidance to team members.

  • Liaise with the production planning team to ensure workflow efficiency and resource allocation.

  • Act as the first point of contact for operational issues on the shop floor.

  • Monitor team performance and support continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Report directly to the Operations Manager with updates on progress, issues, and team performance.

  • Ensure compliance with company procedures and promote a culture of safety and accountability.
