On behalf of our client school, Tradewind are looking to appoint an exceptional teacher who will be responsible for a year two class in an Good school in Hyde, Tameside. This position will commence September 2025 and will run for an academic year with the potential to be made permanent depending offering career progression within the school, but the wider trust. The successful applicant will have proven success achieving rapid progress in a key stage one setting and be a fantastic team player who will wholeheartedly contribute to every aspect at school life.
About the School
This is a one form entry school that provides a broad, balanced curriculum where children are placed at the heart. Lessons are carefully planned to ensure children are well equipped with the skills and knowledge to be successful citizens of the future. In addition to the delivery of core subjects, children learn all other topics through a creative approach linking lessons to real life, with meaning and purpose. Staff work collaboratively to achieve desired outcomes and after visiting this school, it is evident that children enjoy school life and achieve well.
About the Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for the progress and attainment of approximately 30 pupils in a mixed ability class. You will be expected to differentiate learning to both scaffold and stretch learners and implement effective strategies to support SEN/EAL learners. Establishing clear respectful boundaries will be key to your success as well as valuing parents as partners through the children's learning journey. You will also be joined by a full-time TA who is very familiar with the KS1 curriculum.
Key responsibilities - KS1 Teacher
- Create engaging lessons that align with National Curriculum standards for KS1 and support the creative curriculum delivered by the school
- Use adaptive teaching methods to scaffold and stretch learners to achieve their potential, planning to support visual, audio and kinaesthetic preferences
- Build a trusting, respectful rapport with the children linking learning to promote engagement and use modern, child interests to bring learning to life.
- Keep up-to-date records of data and analyse where and what to reteach to bridge gaps in learning and raise levels of attainment
- Work effectively as a team player with the Year 2 TA, key stage and wider staff to share advice, resources and best practice
- Contribute to the extra-curricular programme and school events in the wider community.
