We are looking for a creative and technically skilled Design Engineer / Estimator to join a team developing high-quality, bespoke products, this role blends product design with commercial estimating.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead concept and detail design for new products, elevating them from equipment to furniture through considered form, materials and finishes
  • Prepare accurate cost estimates, bills of materials and quotes for bespoke and custom projects
  • Collaborate with sales, project management, production and suppliers to ensure designs are feasible, cost-effective and meet client requirements
  • Specify materials, finishes and fixtures with attention to aesthetics, durability and cost
  • Maintain design documentation, change control and costing records to support project delivery and profitability


Essential skills and experience

  • Proven experience in product design or as a Design Engineer
  • Strong CAD skills with the ability to produce detailed drawings and 3D models
  • Good understanding of materials, joinery/fabrication techniques
  • Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving skills and the ability to balance aesthetics with manufacturability and cost
  • Strong communication skills and experience working directly with clients, suppliers and production teams
