Job Title: Learning Support Assistant – Active Provision
Location: Southampton
Start Date: September 2025
Salary: £85 - £100 per day

TeacherActive is working with a leading alternative provision to recruit a committed and enthusiastic Active Provision Support Assistant to join a dynamic and creative team.
This term-time only, temp / permanent role is ideal for someone who wants to work hands-on with pupils who face social, emotional, or behavioural challenges and need tailored, offsite learning experiences to re-engage with education.
Role Details:
- Hours: 35 hours per week (39 weeks per year)
- Mon & Fri: 8:30 am – 3:30 pm
- Tues & Thurs: 8:30 am – 4:00 pm
- Wed: 8:30 am – 5:00 pm
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Supporting the Active Provision Co-ordinator in delivering bespoke offsite programmes
- Engaging young people in physical, creative, and experiential learning activities
- Building positive relationships and helping pupils develop confidence and resilience
- Working across multiple venues to provide alternative education pathways
- Collaborating with therapeutic, intervention and academic teams to support learner outcomes
What We’re Looking For:
- Creative, adaptable and enthusiastic individuals with a passion for pupil development
- Experience working with children or young people, particularly those with SEMH or behavioural needs
- A strong sense of initiative and the ability to remain calm under pressure
- Commitment to restorative practice, inclusion and unconditional positive regard
- A desire to work as part of a supportive, cross-disciplinary team
