Job Title: Learning Support Assistant
Location: Hythe, Hampshire

Contract: Temporary (with potential for extension)

We are currently looking for a committed and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to start immediately. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience as a teaching assistant, or a background in psychology, sports coaching, or youth work, who is eager to support students in reaching their full potential both academically and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with a range of special educational needs

  • Assist in the preparation and delivery of tailored learning activities

  • Support students' emotional, social, and academic development

  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and safe classroom environment

  • Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and external agencies where required

Ideal Candidate:

  • Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, or a background in sports coaching or psychology or youth work

  • A patient, empathetic, and resilient nature

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to adapt to different situations and the diverse needs of students

  • A genuine passion for making a positive impact in young people's lives

Desirable (but not essential):

  • Relevant qualifications or training in SEN, education, psychology, or youth work

  • Experience working within an SEN or alternative education setting
