SEN Teaching Assistant
Prospero Teaching are working in partnership with a specialist primary school in Dibden, Southampton, which supports pupils aged 4-11 with Autism and associated complex needs. The school is seeking passionate and dedicated Teaching Assistants to support its growing cohort of pupils.

- Position: SEN Teaching Assistant
- Type of Work: Classroom and 1:1 support for pupils with Autism

- Duration / Likely Duration: Temp to Perm
- Contract Type: Temp to Perm
- Full Time/Part Time: Full time
- Minimum Rate of Pay: From 105.21 (actual pay based on experience)
- Hours: 8:30am-16.30pm
The successful candidate will:
- Support children with Autism and additional complex needs
- Assist with preparing learning materials and delivering engaging activities
- Offer emotional, behavioural and academic support both in and out of the classroom
- Supervise pupils during structured and unstructured times, including outdoor learning and off-site visits
- Promote independence, confidence and positive relationships
- Be calm, patient, adaptable and resilient in their approach
- Thrive as part of a team-focused and child-centred environment
Experience, Training and Qualifications:
- Educated to GCSE grade C/4 or above in English, Maths and Science
- Experience supporting children with Autism or additional needs is highly desirable
- Willingness to take part in physical activities, outdoor learning, and team teaching
- Up-to-date Safeguarding training issued in the last year (or willingness to complete)
Eligibility:
- Hold Right to Work in the UK
- Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online Update Service or be willing to process a new application
- Provide two professional, child-related references
