We are seeking a dedicated Clerk to the Trust to join our central team and ensure high standards of governance across our Trust Board and Local Governing Bodies.
The RoleAs the Clerk to the Trust / Governance Professional, you will provide high-quality clerking and governance support to the Trust Board, its committees, and local governing bodies. You will play a key role in enabling effective decision-making, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, and promoting good governance practices across the Trust.
Key Responsibilities-
Provide expert advice to Trustees and Governors on governance, constitutional, and procedural matters.

Prepare agendas, attend meetings, and produce accurate and timely minutes.

Maintain statutory records and ensure compliance with DfE and ESFA governance requirements.

Support with policy management, governor training, and board evaluations.

Facilitate communications between the Board, committees, and senior leadership.

Experience in clerking/governance within the education or public sector is desirable.

Knowledge of Academy Trust governance frameworks and the Academies Financial Handbook is an advantage.

Excellent organisational, administrative, and communication skills.

Discreet, professional, and able to handle confidential information with integrity.

Proficient in using IT systems including Microsoft Office and governance platforms.
