We are seeking a passionate and experienced Chef Manager to lead the catering operation in a busy and forward-thinking secondary & sixth form setting. This is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of a high-volume school kitchen, ensuring students receive nutritious, freshly prepared meals that support their health, wellbeing, and academic achievement.
The role requires strong leadership, excellent organisational skills, and a genuine passion for food and service in an educational environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesPlan, prepare, and deliver high-quality meals in line with school food standards.
Manage and lead a team of catering staff, ensuring a positive, supportive working environment.
Oversee breakfast and lunch services, maintaining consistency, presentation, and portion control.
Ensure compliance with all food hygiene, allergen management, and health & safety regulations.
Manage stock control, ordering, and budgets efficiently while maintaining quality.
Work closely with school leadership to accommodate dietary needs, themed menus, and special events.
Promote sustainable food practices, minimising waste wherever possible.
Keep accurate records, including allergen and safety documentation.
We are looking for someone who:
Has proven experience managing high-volume catering operations (ideally in schools or similar settings).
Holds relevant qualifications such as Level 3 Food Safety and Health & Safety training.
Demonstrates excellent leadership and people-management skills.
Is highly organised, proactive, and resilient under pressure.
Has a genuine passion for food, nutrition, and student wellbeing.
