Summary:
The Saw Operator, Wood Machinist is responsible for operating a variety of sawing machines to cut and shape wood. This includes setting up and operating saws, measuring, and cutting wood to specifications, and maintaining sawing equipment. The Saw Operator, Wood Machinist must be able to work independently and as part of a team and must have a strong attention to detail.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate a variety of sawing machines, including band saws, circular saws, and multi rip saws. / Moulders (Powermat), Spindle, Cube
- Measure and cut wood to specifications, using a variety of measuring tools
- Maintain sawing equipment, including making minor repairs
- Work independently and as part of a team to meet production goals
- Follow all safety procedures and regulations
Qualifications:
- 1-2 years of experience in sawing or woodworking preferred
- Strong math and problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to follow safety procedures and regulations
Physical Demands:
The Saw Operator, Wood Machinist must be able to lift and move heavy objects, stand for long periods of time, and work in a noisy environment.
