A welcoming and well-managed school in South East London is seeking a reliable, proactive, and skilled School Caretaker to join their site team. This is a key role in helping to maintain a safe, clean, and secure environment for pupils, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
Opening and closing the school premises daily
Carrying out general repairs, maintenance, and basic DIY tasks
Monitoring and maintaining heating, lighting, and alarm systems
Ensuring the school grounds and buildings are clean, tidy, and secure
Overseeing site security, including key holding and emergency call-outs
Managing deliveries and supporting with setup for school events
Ensuring health & safety standards and procedures are followed
Requirements:
Previous experience in a caretaker or facilities/maintenance role (school experience preferred)
Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrics, and general maintenance
Strong awareness of health & safety procedures
Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
