Room Leader

Great Starts Recruitment Ltd is delighted to be supporting a well-established nursery setting in Gants Hill with the recruitment of a passionate and motivated Room Leader for their busy 2–3 years room.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced practitioner ready to step up, or a current Room Leader seeking a fresh challenge in a supportive and professional environment.

What's on offer:

• Competitive salary from £24,000 – £27,950 depending on experience and hours

• Choice of 7.5 or 8.5 hour shifts, rota'd between 7am – 7pm (rota given at least a week in advance)

• 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays and your birthday off

• Year-round position (50 weeks per year)

Your role will include:

• Leading the 2–3 years room and guiding a team of practitioners

• Delivering high-quality care and age-appropriate learning opportunities

• Creating a stimulating and safe environment where children can thrive

• Ensuring compliance with safeguarding and EYFS standards

• Building strong partnerships with families and colleagues

About you:

• Level 3 (or above) qualification in Early Years Education/Childcare

• Previous experience with children aged 2–3, ideally in a leadership role

• Excellent knowledge of the EYFS framework

• Paediatric First Aid Certificate (desirable)

• Willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check if not already registered on the Update Service

• Confident team leader with strong organisational and communication skills

• Passionate about delivering the very best outcomes for children
