Position - Landscape Technician (Level - 1)

Job Purpose

These services include property repairs and refurbishments, estate maintenance, gas servicing, installations, and ongoing maintenance for both internal and external clients.

The post holder is expected to fully understand and uphold their responsibilities with regard to Health & Safety and Equality & Diversity at all times.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain estates in accordance with grounds maintenance contract specifications, applying basic horticultural practices.
  • Provide accurate and timely information on progress and offer advice that is easily understood by the customer.
  • Ensure accurate daily work records are completed.
  • Respond positively to complaints and breakdowns in service delivery to meet customer expectations, in line with contract specifications. Escalate complaints when appropriate.
  • Ensure tools and equipment are maintained in good condition and remain suitable for required tasks.
  • Use equipment and materials safely, as instructed, and in accordance with risk assessments, method statements, and manufacturers guidance.
  • Carry out hazardous tasks, such as spraying, safely and in accordance with supplier guidelines. Maintain relevant records to comply with health and safety and legal requirements.
  • Contribute, as appropriate, to special projects and change programmes in support of the Groups objectives.


Essential Skills
  • Good written and verbal communication in English

  • Ability to follow written instructions and maintain basic records

  • Basic literacy and numeracy (equivalent to GCSE Grade C in English and Maths)

  • Good communication and customer service skills

  • Problem-solving: ability to break down simple issues and act within decision-making authority

  • Adaptability: Open to feedback, receptive to different opinions

  • Communicating & Influencing: Uses plain English, asks clarifying questions
