Finance Assistant

I am looking for a Finance Assistant to support my client a contemporary luxury brand known for world-class design and craftsmanship in bespoke silverware and goldsmithing's Finance Department in managing the purchase ledger and driving transformation within the finance function.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Accurately process invoices and credit notes in both GBP and foreign currencies, ensuring they are matched to purchase orders and coded correctly.
  • Set up new suppliers on the system and verify supplier bank details.
  • Perform reconciliation of Purchase Ledger accounts with supplier statements and payments.
  • Identify and resolve queries involving price and quantity variances through liaison with internal staff and external suppliers.
  • Assist in the preparation of weekly payment runs and support the Finance Department in streamlining purchase ledger processes.
  • Assist with preparing for quarter-end and year-end accounts, including the write-off of old POs.
  • Process staff expense claims.
  • Handle any other ad hoc duties as allocated by the Finance Department.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proficiency in grasping concepts and effective problem-solving.
  • Meticulous attention to detail, maintaining precision and upholding the highest quality standards.
  • Ability to thrive under pressure and meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent administration, numerical, and analytical skills.
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to build and maintain good relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Competent IT skills and experience with data input, administration, and accounts payable.
  • Experience in the manufacturing industry and knowledge of Sage finance products are desirable.
