Reviews Officer - Housing - Ilford, Greater LondonTemporary Contract | 36 Hours per Week | Pay Rate: £25.00 per hour

Job Summary:We are currently seeking an experienced Reviews Officer to support the Housing service based in Ilford, Greater London.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct high-quality, timely reviews of homelessness decisions under the Housing Act 1996 and the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017.
  • Manage cases that go to section 204 appeal in the County Court and further appeals in higher courts.
  • Reduce the need for temporary accommodation by ensuring effective and timely reviews and providing quality options and advice.
  • Record key data on all types of reviews to support submissions to the Department for Communities and Local Government.
  • Collaborate with various teams to ensure compliance with housing legislation and best practices.

Requirements:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of housing advice and homelessness legislation, including the Housing Act 1996 and the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017.
  • Experience working with vulnerable customers and providing effective support.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to manage a caseload effectively.
