Reviews Team Leader - Housing - Ilford, Greater LondonTemporary Contract | 36 hours per week | Pay Rate: £28.95 per hour

Job Summary:We are currently seeking an experienced Reviews Team Leader to support the Housing service based in Ilford, Greater London.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of specialist review officers to ensure reviews are conducted within statutory timescales and to a high standard.
  • Provide casework supervision on complex cases and address performance issues within the team.
  • Hold a small caseload of reviews and complete high-quality, timely reviews of homelessness decisions.
  • Manage cases that go to section 204 appeal in the County Court and further appeals in higher courts.
  • Ensure effective and timely reviews to reduce the need for temporary accommodation and associated costs.
  • Record high-quality data on all types of reviews to support submissions to the Department for Communities and Local Government.

Requirements:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of housing advice and homelessness legislation, including the Housing Act 1996 and the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017.
  • Experience in managing a team and achieving performance targets.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex information clearly.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex issues quickly.
  • Commitment to providing first-class customer service and promoting a homeless prevention approach.
