Reeson Education is working with welcoming primary schools across East London, in the borough of Waltham Forest, who are looking for dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their teams. Whether you're an experienced TA or new to SEN support, this SEN Teaching Assistant role is a great opportunity to make a real difference working with children who need a little extra help to thrive.

You'll be supporting pupils across areas including Walthamstow, Leyton, Leytonstone, Chingford, Highams Park, and Woodford-all with great transport links.



The Role:

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you'll work flexibly across primary year groups (EYFS to Year 6), supporting children with a range of additional needs including ASD and Speech & Language difficulties. You'll provide 1:1 or small group support, helping pupils access learning, build confidence, and develop independence.



Key Responsibilities as a SEN Teaching Assistant:

  • Support children with ASD, Speech & Language needs, and other SEND on a 1:1 or small group basis
  • Adapt activities and resources to meet individual learning needs
  • Use visual supports, structured routines, and positive behaviour strategies
  • Work closely with class teachers and SENCOs to track progress and plan interventions
  • Encourage communication, social skills, and emotional regulation
  • Maintain a calm, patient, and nurturing approach at all times


What We're Looking For in a SEN Teaching Assistant:

  • A valid DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one)
  • A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
  • Flexibility to work across different year groups and settings
  • Strong communication skills and a team-player attitude
  • Experience with SEN is welcomed but not essential-we're open to motivated newcomers too
