Key Responsibilities:
As a Speech and Language Therapist you will undertake comprehensive assessments of speech, language, and communication needs using formal and informal tools
You will develop and implement evidence based intervention plans for individuals and groups
You will monitor and evaluation therapy programmes and adapt as needed
Produce reports for EHCPs annual reviews and statutory assessments
By working closely with teachers, SENCOs, parents and multi-disciplinary teams and providing training and advice to school staff on communication strategies and inclusive classroom practices you will be collaborative and promote targeted interventions to support communication across the curriculum.
Essential requirements for the role:
BSc/MSc in Speech and Language Therapy (RCSLT accredited)
HCPC registration
Experience working with children and young people with SEND in educational settings
Knowledge of evidence based interventions for SLCN and autism spectrum conditions
Strong communication and collaborative skills
Desirable requirements for the role
Postgraduate training in AAC or specialist approaches (eg PECS, Makaton)
Previous experience in school based or community paediatric settings
Ability to deliver staff training and workshops
You will be required to undergo a thorough compliance check for this role to include an enhanced DBS and references.
