Senior Estimator – Major Projects (Energy)
Location: London
Contract: up to £650 per day

As part of our Major Projects business stream, we are seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to support the development of innovative Energy infrastructure. You'll play a key role in projects that will shape communities and deliver long-term sustainability benefits.
About the Role
As a Senior Estimator, you will support the Managing Estimator in developing detailed, first-principles estimates for multi-disciplinary Energy Projects across a variety of project stages. You will be a senior presence within the estimating team, helping lead pricing development while mentoring junior team members.
Key responsibilities include:

Developing detailed and accurate cost estimates based on drawings, specifications and planning inputs

Working with planning, procurement, and design teams to coordinate pricing inputs

Engaging with other business units to align estimating strategies and submissions

Supporting and mentoring junior estimators to build team capability

Identifying pricing risks, assumptions, and commercial opportunities

Ensuring estimates are delivered in line with internal governance and procedures

Liaising with internal and external stakeholders, including supply chain partners and consultants
What We're Looking For
Essential:
-
Background in infrastructure, ideally in heavy civil engineering

Significant experience in estimating large-scale infrastructure projects

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other estimating tools

A collaborative, team-focused approach with strong communication skills

Ability to work under pressure and meet demanding deadlines

A valid CSCS card
Desirable:
-
Chartered status (e.g. ICE, CICES, RICS, CIOB)

Familiarity with BIM, Lean Construction principles, and 5D cost planning
-
Experience of leading or mentoring a team
