Disrepair Surveyor

We are currently seeking an experienced Disrepair Surveyor to support the delivery of a high-quality, resident-focused disrepair service across a large residential housing portfolio.
The role will focus on assessing, managing, and resolving disrepair and reactive maintenance issues, while working closely with repairs partners, contractors, consultants, and internal teams to ensure all works are delivered to the required compliance standards, specifications, programmes, and budgets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess and manage disrepair cases across the housing portfolio, ensuring timely and compliant resolution
  • Carry out frequent site visits to inspect works and monitor contractor performance
  • Ensure contractors and partner agencies deliver work to agreed standards, specifications, schedules, and costs
  • Maintain accurate digital records and produce clear, professional reports following inspections and site visits
  • Update asset management and property databases with inspection findings and outcomes
  • Adopt a strong resident-focused approach, ensuring clear communication and effective liaison with tenants
  • Work collaboratively with Building Safety Operations and Building Safety Compliance teams to ensure homes are safe and meet regulatory requirements

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience producing clear and detailed technical reports
  • Strong understanding of Awaab's Law, including statutory timescales
  • Experience administering building and partnering contracts
  • Background in residential building surveying
  • Experience undertaking Stock Condition Surveys
  • Strong knowledge and application of HHSRS assessments
  • Demonstrable experience liaising directly with residents and stakeholders
  • Working knowledge of Asbestos Regulations
  • Sound understanding of housing legislation and regulations relating to repairs and maintenance
  • Good project management skills
  • Ability to apply Health & Safety, customer care, and communication policies effectively
  • IT literate, with strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Excellent written communication and report-writing skills
